Uses:
Yaz tablet is a low-dose, combined oral contraceptive tablet containing 3 mg drospirenone and 0.02 mg ethinyl estradiol. It is a prescription medication used to prevent pregnancy, treat moderate acne (in females 14+), and manage symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).
Yaz acts by inhibiting ovulation and altering the uterine lining.
Key Details Dosage:
The blister pack contains 24 light pink (active) tablets and 4 white (inert/placebo) tablets, taken daily for 28 days.Administration: It is recommended to take one tablet daily at the same time each day.
Effectiveness: When taken correctly, it offers high protection against pregnancy.
Common Side Effects:
Headache, migraine, or nausea. Mood changes, including depression, Breast pain and vaginal discharge, Irregular bleeding or changes in menstrual periods
Warnings Blood Clots: Yaz increases the risk of serious cardiovascular events, including deep vein thrombosis (blood clots in the legs) and pulmonary embolism (blood clots in the lungs).
Smoking: Smoking while taking Yaz significantly increases the risk of serious cardiovascular side effects.
Contraindications: Do not use if you have a history of blood clots, heart disease, or high blood pressure.Interaction: Inform your doctor about other medications, as some can reduce the effectiveness of birth control.
