Prescription Policy
5.1 Prescription Medicines
Certain medicines may only be supplied against a valid prescription from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional, as required by legal DRAP’s law.
Examples may include certain:
· Antibiotics/antimicrobials
· Prescription-only medicines
· Controlled/restricted medicines
· Medicines requiring special monitoring
· Other products designated as prescription-only by the relevant authorities
· The exact requirements may vary according to applicable law and regulatory classification.
5.2 Prescription Verification
Where a prescription is required, CSH Pharmacy may request a clear and valid prescription containing appropriate information.
Our pharmacist may verify:
Medicine name
Strength and dosage form
Quantity
Directions for use
Prescriber information
Prescription date/validity
Patient information where required
CSH Pharmacy may contact the customer or prescriber for clarification where necessary.
5.3 Restricted/Controlled Medicines
CSH Pharmacy will comply with applicable requirements concerning controlled, narcotic, psychotropic and other restricted medicines.
Such medicines may require:
Valid prescription
Additional documentation
Pharmacist verification
Quantity limitations
Record keeping
Additional regulatory requirements
CSH Pharmacy reserves the right to refuse an order where legal or regulatory requirements cannot be satisfied.
5.4 Pharmacist Approval/Refusal
A CSH Pharmacy pharmacist may refuse, hold or modify fulfillment of an order where:
The prescription is invalid or unclear
Required information is missing
The medicine is legally restricted
There is a concern regarding inappropriate supply
The quantity appears inconsistent with the prescription
The prescription cannot be verified
Applicable law or professional standards prevent dispensing
The pharmacist's decision regarding lawful dispensing will take precedence over an online order request.
