- Contraindications: Do not use if you have asthma, very slow heart rate, severe heart block, or heart failure.
- Diabetes: It can mask symptoms of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), such as tachycardia.
- Abrupt Withdrawal: Do not stop taking abruptly as it may cause chest pain or heart attack.
Pregnancy/Elderly: Use caution and medical supervision.
- Cold extremities
- Slow heart rate (bradycardia)
- Fatigue or dizziness
- Trouble sleeping
- Inderal (tablets): Usually taken 2 to 4 times a day.
- Inderal LA/XL (capsules): Long-acting, usually once daily.
- Take consistently with or without food, as directed by a doctor.
- Avoid using with other blood pressure medicines (e.g., calcium channel blockers) without doctor approval, as this can lead to severe low blood pressure or low heart rate
