Description
Dexachlor eye drops (containing Dexamethasone and Chloramphenicol) are used to treat bacterial eye infections and associated inflammation.
They relieve redness, swelling, and itching caused by conjunctivitis, eye injuries, or post-operative irritation.
Typically, 1–2 drops are applied to the affected eye(s) every 3–6 hours, depending on severity.
Key Uses and Indications:
Bacterial Infections: Treats bacterial conjunctivitis and superficial ocular infections.
Inflammation Control: Reduces steroid-responsive inflammatory conditions of the eye.
Allergic Conditions: Treats allergic conjunctivitis and allergies of the cornea and eyelid.
Post-Surgery/Injury: Often used to prevent infection and reduce inflammation following eye surgeries (including intraocular and corneoplastic surgery) or injuries.
Ear Infections: Can also be used to treat bacterial ear infections (otitis externa/media)
Usage Guidelines:
Dosage: Treatment often begins with 1–2 drops every 3 hours, or more frequently if necessary, reduced to three times daily as symptoms improve.
Duration: Generally, use for more than 14 days is not recommended without physician consultation. Continue for at least 48 hours after symptoms disappear.
Administration: Shake well before use. Tilt your head back, pull down the lower lid, and allow the drop to fall into the eye.
Precautions: Avoid in case of fungal or certain viral eye infections.
