Peditral by Searle is an oral rehydration salt (ORS) solution designed to treat dehydration caused by diarrhea, vomiting, fever, or excessive sweating. It replenishes essential electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chloride) and glucose.
Peditral is available in both powder sachets and ready-to-use liquid (500ml) in regular, orange, bubblegum, and banana flavors.
Key Details of Peditral ORS:
Composition (Sachet): Contains Sodium Chloride 2.6g, Potassium Chloride 1.5g, Sodium Citrate 2.9g, and Dextrose Anhydrous 13.5g.
Ready-to-Use Liquid (500ml): Contains Sodium chloride 1.75g, Trisodium citrate trihydrate 1.45g, Potassium chloride 0.75g, and Glucose anhydrous 10g.
Indications: Acute diarrhea, dehydration from intense heat or exertion, and fluid loss due to illness.
Usage: For sachets, dissolve the contents in the specified amount of clean drinking water. Prepared solutions should be used within 24 hours.

Side Effects: Rarely, mild nausea or bloating may occur. Excessive intake might lead to electrolyte imbalances.
