Apidra SoloStar (insulin glulisine) is a rapid-acting, prescription human insulin analog used to improve glycemic control in adults and children (6+ years) with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes.
It controls mealtime blood sugar spikes, acting faster (onset 10–20 min) and having a shorter duration than regular insulin.
How it is Administered
Method: Subcutaneous injection (under the skin) using the pre-filled, disposable SoloStar pen.
Timing: Administer within 15 minutes before or 20 minutes after starting a meal.
Injection Sites: Abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Rotate sites to prevent lipodystrophy.
Storage: Store unused pens in the refrigerator. Once in use, the pen can be stored at room temperature for up to 4 weeks.
